We love working with our clients to create heirloom photography that their families will adore forever. We’ve captured Bec and George Douros through their maternity stage, capturing the amazing birth of little Archie and completing his arrival with a beautiful newborn session. This is the complete birth journey and an amazing way to celebrate your little one.
It’s exciting to see our images so widely shared and we can’t wait to reveal more. Most recently we appeared in the Daily Mail
“What time did the man go to the dentist? Tooth hurt-y”
We groan, but we secretly love our Dad’s jokes. It’s certainly something I relish in when I catch up with my Dad, and even though I’m grown, the nicknames he has for me still stick.
Father’s and their children have a unique bond. From the tender and sweet moments to the fun giggles and tickles and all the in-between.
As we grow our relationships mature and this is never more apparent than in photographs taken over the years. The importance of those photographs is not diminished as we head in to adulthood, as we begin to acknowledge that life is not infinite, and that capturing all life moments is incredibly valuable. It’s for this reason that we love capturing amazing relationships in special moments with our natural approach that has true personalities shining through.
Having been blessed to be allowed to witness so many special relationships over the years, we know all too well that every family is individual, and we want to ensure that the work we produce is just as individual.
Well before your shoot we will discuss with you exactly what you want to achieve, try to understand the specifics of everyone who will be involved and develop a custom shoot that will capture the fun, beauty and essence your relationship.
A photoshoot with your dad can be the perfect gift, so give us a call to discuss and get your shoot done before Father’s Day, or get a gift certificates for the perfect last minute gift.

Welcome to your 3rd trimester! As last days of pregnancy fly by, I know from experience how it becomes easier and easier to picture your little one in your arms as they begin their life in the outside world. During this beautiful time though, it’s important to remember that you need to book in your newborn shoot.
The sleepy, curly newborn photographs that our clients adore are captured in the very early days between 4-10 days old. Your little one quickly adjusts to life on the outside, and beyond 10 days old is loving the extra leg room and checking out the world around.
Birth is a huge journey for your little one and they certainly love their sleep, creating the perfect comfort level for us to photograph them all curled up. This sleepy period disappears as they become more alert, and so does the window to get those all-important photographs. We help you with advice for setting the perfect environment to capture your baby, when we photograph in your home.
Flexibility is a must when scheduling your baby’s very first portrait session. We use your due date to work out an approximate time, and depending on your baby’s grand entrance, we adjust your session date as necessary. Give us a call to chat about your baby’s arrival and how you’d love to capture it.
Your growing and changing bump is one of the most beautiful things that can happen to a woman’s body. There is beauty and elegance in those curves and what you feel from the inside gives an emotional softness that translates in such intimate photography.
The best time to capture your bump is between the 30-36 week period, during this time you are beautifully rounded and can move about comfortably. You are our priority in both comfort and capturing gorgeous artwork created largely by you and your growing little person.
As much as I love deliciously sweet newborn portraits, nothing says fun like catching up with a one year old to celebrate her birthday.
Miss Polly’s parents celebrated this milestone with a cake smash portrait session and we captured all the joy (and a little tears when big brother, Hamish invaded the set and tipped over the cake ). FUN!
We created a stunning 9 cube framed piece to take a proud place in Polly’s bedroom. Beautiful in soft girly tones, with a simple white box frame that gives a timeless look to suit any area.
Autumn is certainly here and some of the beautiful leaves are already starting to change. The magic times of the day become even more alive at this time of year with the abundance of reds and yellows in the scenery. With the leaves only staying colourful for such a short time, it’s one of our busiest times of year. Just a few sessions left for the school holidays, call to book your session.
The new settings on the iPhone (apologies Android users, I don’t have an Android) software are pretty cool, turning simple phone photos into eye catching images. So I’ve been having a play and these are some of my favourite apps (and were free at the time of writing this blog!)
Phoenix Photo Editor
Almost like having Photoshop on your phone, not only does this app have some cool filters, it has some great “light leak” filters that give a vintage film feel and even the fun tilt shift blur you need to create your own “miniature” landscapes. “Miniature” shots work best with landscapes shot from above or playing with a true mini set up like Lego or model train pieces.
You can change contrast, warmth, sharpness just like Photoshop and even export your image to quite high resolution, ready for you to print!
With the many inspirational quotes and memes you find online, you can create your own with The Photoblend App (also free, for the basics). I love it to add another design element to my images with textures you can find with a simple Google image search. Play with the level of blend, erase parts of the texture, to come up with your finished image.
These kind of fun apps make me love my phone! Instagram doesn’t have to limited to using the Ludwig filter
This would have to be our number one asked question when preparing for your portrait session. We have 2 favourite times of the day for our location sessions, all depending on your chosen location, and those are sunrise and sunset.
The early morning is absolutely worth the extra effort to roll out of bed and not only get yourself ready, but your family ready. There are quite a few factors we consider for this time, some of which being the amazing sunrise colours in the sky, beautiful warm light, quiet locations, usually not raining in the morning, kids are energetic after a full nights rest. Another huge factor is wind, it is known to be less windy in the mornings – there’s a reason that hot air ballooning is done in the early hours.
Sunset is also perfect, however families with little ones will know what a challenge this time of the day can be. Especially little ones who have a regular bedtime of 7pm, keeping them up and happy until 8pm during the summer months is not possible. Sunset is beautiful for that vibrant, warm colour palette, that seems to scream summer no matter what time of the year it is. Beach sessions can be rather windy at this time, but if you ladies don’t mind popping your hair up, it can create an amazing effect with hair and dresses blowing in the wind. A perfect opportunity for us to bring out some of our fantastic tutu skirts and extra fabric to create a highly stylised art piece.
